Terms & Conditions

General terms

By participating in or booking Taiga Times Ltd (hereinafter Taiga Times) programs or any related products or services you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. Taiga Times business ID is 2992388-8.

The prices and services offered by Taiga Times are described in the specific program descriptions for each service separately. Customized trips will be priced on an individual basis according to the requests made. Language used during all our services is English.

Booking and confirmation

Once Taiga Times has confirmed your booking the contract is made between Taiga Times and you. On Internet bookings, you will receive a confirmation of your booking to your email.

Cancellations and changes

For cancellations, please inform Taiga Times via email info@taigatimes.com and specify the reservation number and trip details. Cancellation inquiry shall be made in writing within office hours in Finland. The requested cancellations are subject to the written approval of Taiga Times.

The amount of cancellation fee for each type of service is set out below:

Public Day Tours:

  • Cancellation made 24 hours prior to the program: 100% of the reservation held as a charge.

    Private Day Tours & Group Tours:

  • Cancellation made 7 days or less prior to the program: 100% of the reservation held as a charge.
  • Multi-Day Tours:

  • A 15% non-refundable deposit of the total amount is required to reserve your position on the selected trip.
  • Cancellation made 31 days or more prior to the program: Fully refunded less the non-refundable deposit.
  • Cancellation made 30 days or less prior to the program: 100% of the reservation held as a charge.

  • If you would like to make changes to your booking, please inform Taiga Times via email info@taigatimes.com and specify the reservation number. Booking changes shall be made in writing within office hours in Finland. The requested changes are subject to written approval of Taiga Times. All requests will be considered by Taiga Times if sent 48 hours prior to the bookings starting date and time. Taiga Times cannot guarantee availability of requested changes.


    Taiga Times reserves the right to make changes or reschedule the planned program if necessary. The program may be cancelled by Taiga Times due to factors such as bad weather conditions, employee illness, safety concerns, or other reasons. Additionally, if the minimum count of participants (4 per tour) is not reached, there is a possibility that Taiga Times may cancel the program. In the event of cancellation by Taiga Times, your reservation will be fully refunded.

    Please note that purchased gift cards are non-refunable.

    Payment

    We accept most common credit/debit cards. Payments will be made via Stripe. The prices given by Taiga Times include VAT according to the taxation laws of Finland. Taiga Times reserves the right to change the prices if any extra costs occur.

    Liability

    During the expeditions and tours Taiga Times Ltd follows appropriate health and safety regulations in accordance with laws and regulations as applicable in Finland. Standard guidelines recommended to practice in different program services are followed always when delivering services. Taiga Times Ltd can only be held liable for injuries and material damages during the delivery of the service that are caused by negligence of the company or employees or already broken equipment. Taiga Times Ltd cannot be held responsible for any accidental injuries or damages that are inhered under the customer's travel insurance.

    Personal travel insurance is always highly recommended. The customer shall acknowledge that adventure tours and the products and services offered by Taiga Times may involve a significant amount of risk to customer´s health and safety. The customer shall acknowledge that he/she has considered any potential risks to health and safety and assumed responsibility for all such risk. The customer may be required to sign a form on the day of tour as required by Taiga Times to acknowledge his/her understanding of the risks to certain activities. Failure to inform Taiga Times of the pregnancy shall release Taiga Times from any liability to the pregnant customer.

    Liability insurance

    Taiga Times Ltd has general third-party liability insurance for bodily injuries and damaged property. The terms and conditions of liability insurance are conducted by LähiTapiola.

    Responsibility and Safety

    Taiga Times cannot be held responsible for any damage or disappearance of valuables during the programs. It is your responsibility to take good care of your belongings. As a participant in our programs you are responsible for the equipment we provide and lend to you. If any damage is done on purpose or by accident or any equipment disappear during the program, Taiga Times reserves the right to charge the costs of caused damage from the participant.

    The customer is under contract to follow the instructions given by the staff of Taiga Times considering the venues and equipment. The customer is responsible for following the timetable of the program. If the customer neglects this duty, Taiga Times has the right to charge the expenses caused by the neglect.

    Taiga Times reserves the right to discontinue a program if any participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or other participants. Taking part of our programs under influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly forbidden. If a participant is in poor health or is physically incapable of joining the program, Taiga Times may refuse participation in the program.

    During the excursions and tours, we sometimes may build an open fire. Taiga Times cannot be held responsible for any injuries or damaged valuables caused by fire or any other hot objects. By taking part to our programs you understand these risks.

    During the excursions which involve foraging, Taiga Times will not be held responsible for the neglect of participants who have not payed attention or listened to guides instructions and have caused bodily harm to themselves or others by ingesting poisonous matter.

    As a participant of our services you shall acknowledge that the products and services organized by Taiga Times may involve a significant amount of risk to customer´s health and safety. You acknowledge these potential risks to health and safety by taking part to our programs.

    Photos and Videos

    Taiga Times reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at safaris/tours organised by Taiga Times without the expressed written/oral permission of those included within the photograph/video. Taiga Times may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by the Taiga Times including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, websites, etc.

    Any person desiring not to have their photo taken or distributed must contact info@taigatimes.com in writing of his/her intentions and include a photograph. Taiga Times will use the photo for identification purposes and will hold it in confidence. Any person or organisation not affiliated with Taiga Times may not use, copy, alter or modify Taiga Times photographs, graphics, videography or other, similar reproductions or recordings without the advance written permission of an authorised designee from Taiga Times.

    Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

    These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Finnish Law. The Finnish Courts shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute, controversy or claim related to such a demand. The District Court of Helsinki, shall be the court of first instance.

    Severability

    If any part, term or provision of these terms and conditions is partly or wholly held invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity or enforceability of other provisions, extent part and remainder of these terms and conditions shall remain in full force and effect.

    Neither Party shall be held liable for any default, damage or loss due to a condition force majeure or to unreasonable impairment of the Party’s operations due to a similar cause (including but not limited to war, strike, weather, lack of snow, or other natural condition etc.). If encountered a force majeure condition, the Party shall immediately notify the other Party in writing thereof and shall keep the other Party fully informed of the continuance of the force majeure condition and of any relevant change of circumstances whilst such force majeure continues. When encountered a force majeure conditions Parties shall also take all reasonable steps available to it to minimize the effects of the force majeure on the performance of their obligations under this contractual relationship.
