A small group experience of guided treks inside three unique national parks

Experience the perfect winter adventure week that’s fun and accessible for everyone. With our hearts set on exploring, we take to the wilderness of three incredibly diverse national parks, a 10KM husky safari, feed reindeers and savour a week full of laughter as you conquer the snow, one step at a time!

Every day brings a new adventure. Every night brings a warm sauna.

With each national park, brings new landscapes and settings. From frozen lakes and forests to vast fells and rugged cliffs, each excursion will take approx. 5 hours and vary in terrain with short up and downhill bouts. Our accommodation for the week is a high-quality log cabin with all the amenities. If the forecast is calling for strong aurora activity, we can walk right outside our cabin to watch in wonder.

From Start to Finish: Your winter week adventure

Day 1 - Arrival

Arrive at Kuusamo airport to meet your Guide. Transfer (approx. 45 minutes) to accommodation. Have a welcoming snack and settle into your new home!

Day 2 - Snowshoeing – Transfer to Oulanka NP – WELCOME TO THE WILD

Our first trek will take us to the mystical Oulanka national park. A rich land of deep forests, rivers, and gorges carved by glaciers. After a hearty breakfast and a brief introduction into snowshoe techniques, we will make a short transfer into the heart of the park. Today’s adventure will have us breaking trail alongside the wintery rapids and timeworn rocks of the Kitkajoki river. Warm up by the campfire on our lunch break and enjoy a hot coffee or tea.

Day 3 - Snowshoeing - Transfer to Värikallio - LORE OF THE NORTH

This day's excursion will be filled with magic from the very beginning! Folklore and tales of the forest's inhabitants will be the theme of the hike as we snowshoe through untouched snow to the ancient rock paintings of Hossa National Park. Lunch will be served over a campfire with tea & coffee brewed Finnish-style.

Day 4 - Huskies - Transfer to Erä-Susi Huskey Safari - MUSH ON!

It's not every day you get to mush a team of dogs in the wintery taiga landscapes. After a brief introduction and safety lesson, it's time to meet your personal dog team for the day and hit the trail. This 10 km safari will leave you wanting to take home a husky of your own! After the safari, enjoy a warm drink & snacks on the farm before returning home to your cozy cabin in the woods.

Day 5 - Snowshoeing - Transfer to Riisitunturi – GHOSTS OF SNOW

Walk below great towers of snow on this epic hike up an arctic fell in Riisitunturi National Park. Known for its great towers of icy trees this excursion will leave you in awe. As we start our hike from the base of the fell we will reach the top after an hour and half to our main lookout 360 degrees if bliss. Lunch will be held in a scenic wilderness shelter outdoors where you can enjoy the company of others and the warmth of the fire.

Day 6 - Snowshoeing + Reindeers – RAPIDS & REINDEERS

Today we will head back into Oulanka to explore the water ways and watch the white throated dippers swim in and out of the water. After a relaxing and shorter final day excursion we will head back to the cabin to get ready for our farewell dinner at the luxurious Kujalan reindeer farm to eat a traditional Finnish reindeer cuisine and reminisce over the incredible adventures of the past week.

Day 7 - Departure

It's time to say farewell. Let's enjoy our last breakfast together and begin our transfer to Kuusamo airport.
