Berry picking and wildlife
“Jeff at Taiga Times couldn't have been a better guide. Not only did I get to see a part of Finland I wouldn't have had access to otherwise, I learned lots about the Taiga forest and its flora. All that plus a tasty lunch in a toasty shelter. What a wonderful way to spend the day.” – Helen

Gather your own food and have fun!
Finland is one of the best places in the world for foraging wild foods. As spring transitions into summer, the forest flourishes new vegetation and the aroma of fresh berries fills the air. Whether you are here to experience the Finnish culture of berry picking or simply taste the most natural organic fresh fruits nature can provide, you will treasure this intimate experience in Finland's wilderness.
Collect Blueberries, Lingonberries, and Strawberries
Then enjoy a Finnish style lunch by the campfireDuring this guided tour we may fill our baskets with Finnish superfoods such as blueberries, lingonberries and, with some extra luck, we may even find some sweet wild strawberries. These superfoods are rich with vitamins and nutrients and sweeter than any berry you could buy from the stores!
This day trip starts from Helsinki and we will take you to Liesjärvi national park. We consider Liesjärvi a hidden gem of Southern Finland. It is only 100 km from the city and not often visited by international travellers, so we can collect the berries at our own pace. A breathtaking landscape carved by glaciers and shrouded by old growth forest provides a magical setting to spend the day foraging.
